We wanted to share an update on Gabriel’s Bill (House Bill 1044), which recently passed through committee with unanimous support. This legislation would allow for newborn safety devices, or baby boxes, giving parents in crisis a safe, anonymous option to surrender their babies to emergency providers.

This bill holds deep significance for us at Millennium Recycling after the heartbreaking discovery of a newborn at our facility last year. That day changed us, and we hope this bill will help prevent such tragedies from happening again.

We are thankful to Representative Soye and South Dakota Right to Life for pushing this effort forward. Millennium Recycling supports Gabriel’s Bill and encourages our community to stay informed and engaged.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort. Together, we can help protect the most vulnerable.

Read more about the Bill here.
